Calcium Silicon alloy is a compound alloy made up of elements silicon, calcium, and iron, is an ideal compound deoxidizer, desulfurization agent. Starting around 1907, the calcium silicon alloy was produced by silicon thermal method. At present calcium alloy can be used instead of aluminum for final deoxidation, is applied to high-quality steel, special steel and special alloys production.
Since calcium has a strong affinity with oxygen, sulfur, hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon in liquid steel, silicon calcium alloy is mainly used for deoxidization, degassing and fixation of sulfur in steel fluid. It is widely used in high quality steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel production and nickel base alloy, titanium alloy and other special alloy production. In cast iron production,the calcium silicon alloy have inoculation effect.helped to form fine grained or spheroidal graphite; in the grey cast iron Graphite distribution uniformity,reduce chilling tendency,and can increase silicon,desulfurization,improve the quality of cast iron.
